GUS POYET believes Dimitar Berbatov could yet remain at White Hart Lane despite speculation suggesting the Bulgarian is on his way out of the club.

A number of top European clubs, including AC Milan and Barcelona, are known to be interested in the striker, but Poyet has quelled rumours of an imminent move.

"I was waving as well and I am not leaving," Poyet said after the Spurs squad completed a lap of honour.

"It is difficult now. There are going to be too many rumours about people coming and going.

"They are under contract and we expect everyone to be here. What happens in the next month and the month after we can talk about, but at the minute it is nothing."

Poyet was coy about any potential new signings, although a player overhaul is expected to take place, with boss Juande Ramos overseeing a dramatic transformation.

"There is no number (of new signings). It depends on a few things and what the team needs. It is not decided completely," said the Uruguayan.
