Arsène Wenger

ARSENAL boss Arsène Wenger claims it is the entry door and not the exit at the Emirates Stadium where the lining up of players is taking place.

There have been countless stories in the media claiming a number of the Gunners top stars are clambering to leave the club, but Wenger believes exactly the opposite is happening.

And the Gunners boss was quick to quash the latest rumours claiming leading striker Emmanuel Adebayor's is reported to be demanding a huge pay rise or he will be off.

"I don't know about the Adebayor stories, I discovered that as well in the newspapers," said Wenger told arsenal.com.

"Negotiations are negotiations and we keep secret what we do. When something is concluded we come out with it, it's as simple as that.

"But I believe I have more demands for players who want to join us than players who want to leave us. Because Arsenal is a massive club, we are hugely admired all over the world, and many players dream of playing for us.

"When I read the newspapers it looks like everybody wants to leave but inside it's not like that at all. I believe strongly in the players I have and I believe we'll have a very strong side next year."

Wenger also claims he plans to be active in the transfer market this summer.

He added: "Every club should have to deal with its own resources and should be forbidden to have any other income than natural resources," he insisted. "It is realistic because all the rest is false competition."
