ARSENAL are reported to be in the running for Barcelona midfielder Yaya Toure.

The People says Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is planning to move for the younger brother of Gunners defender Kolo Toure, to fill the void left by Mathieu Flamini exit to AC Milan.

Wenger believes Yaya will however be the midfield general he has been searching for to fill the boots of former Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira, who Kolo has described his brother as having the same playing style as.

Midfielder Yaya - who is 25 on Tuesday - stands at 6ft 3ins and while the former Olympiakos and AS Monaco man has been linked with a string of other top clubs in Europe the prospect of playing alongside his brother is too good for him to turn down.

Yaya, actually had a trial with the Gunners in 2002 but Wenger decided not to offer him a deal, but following some marked progressed on his playing style could see him now cost the north London outfit in the region of £10million.
