ORIENT midfielder Adam Chambers admits it will be hard trying to rest his fingers and feet this summer.

The former West Brom man, who scooped the Player of the Year and Players' Player of the Year awards at the club's official end of season presentation evening on Monday, was described by manager Martin Ling as probably one of the fittest players in the lower leagues this week.

And fitness-fanatic Chambers reveals he will struggle to rest during the close-season, while also keeping himself active keeping up to date with the new arrivals at Brisbane Road this summer.

He said: "We are supposed to have three weeks clear rest at the moment to try and recover from any knocks and niggles.

"Then we will start work on the programmes we've got to prepare ourselves for pre-season training.

"To be honest though I will still probably pop down the gym over the next few weeks to do a bit of weight training to try and improve my strength ready for next season.

"Of course it will be nothing to strenuous as I do hope to have a good rest before next season.

"I will be off on holiday soon as well, and I'm planing to go to America with a few friends to get in some shopping and sight seeing."

Reflecting on any possible O's signings, the midfielder added: "The gaffer has certainly got a busy summer ahead of him, because he nearly needs the same amount of players as he did last year.

"Hopefully he will be able to add some real quality that will push us on for a play-off push next season.

"It will certainly be interesting to see who his signs and I'll have my TV remote in hand checking up on Sky Sports and Teletext to see, who we are signing."
