A quad bike rider left fighting for his life following a crash is now said to be in a stable condition.

The 30-year-old from Chigwell was left in a critical condition following a three-vehicle collision in Manor Road, Chigwell on October 19.

Officers said the man, who was riding a black Yamaha quad bike, was travelling towards Woodford Bridge and is believed to have lost control, before colliding with a white van travelling in the opposite direction and a black Volkswagen people carrier.

He was taken by air ambulance to the Royal London Hospital.

The female driver of the people carrier was taken to hospital with shock and minor injuries, but was released after treatment. The van driver was not injured.
