A woman was taken to hospital following a crash on the M25 this morning.
Firefighters from Waltham Abbey, Loughton and Ongar attended the scene between junction 26 for Waltham Abbey and junction 27 at around 9.20am following reports of a two vehicle collision.
Crews worked on the scene of the incident, which involved one car and a heavy goods vehicle, to free a woman in her 50s who was trapped.
Specialist cutting equipment was needed to release the casualty who was suffering from a suspected back injury.
She was treated on the scene before being transferred to Princess Alexandra Hospital for further care.
