Forest conservators are searching for a pet dog which was deliberately hit by a car this morning.

An Epping Forest Warden was called to Manor Road in Loughton at 10.15am after a dog was seen being hit by a black Range Rover after the driver attempted to scare it from the roadway.

The dog, a brown English bulldog wearing a red collar, suffered a leg injury from the incident.

Passers-by attempted to help the dog however it fled into the forest in a scared state.

Despite searching the area the warden was unable to locate the injured pet and the search has been passed on to Epping Forest conservators.
