One of two men arrested in connection with a fatal crash on the M25 this week has been released on bail.

A man, who is believed to have been a 39-year-old from Leicester, was pronounced dead at the crash scene between junctions 25 and 26 on Tuesday.

The incident saw four lorries and a car crash through the central reservation.

Outside lanes remain closed in both directions whilst roadworks to repair damage to the carriagway is underway.

A 33-year-old man, also from Leicester, was arrested following the incident on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

He has been bailed until April pending enquiries.

The second man who was arrested, 25, is still being treated in hospital and will be questioned at a later date according to an Essex Police spokeswoman.
