Normal service has been resumed after an earlier fire halted trains.
At around 9.20am an electrical panel at Theydon Bois underground station burst into flames after overheating, causing signalling problems between Epping and Loughton stations on the Central Line.
All trains between the two stations were cancelled, and dozens of tube passengers were forced to disembark in Theydon Bois and continue their journey by other means.
Transport for London (TfL) officials announced that normal services have now resumed after engineers and the London Fire Brigade attended the fire, which was caused by a faulty backup power supply at the station.
Chris Taggart, general manger of the Central Line, apologised to customers and said no-one had been injured or put at risk by the fire.
