The director of a care home inspected repeatedly over safety concerns has released a statement after it was assessed for the third time in a year.

The Care Quality Commission found the home was failing to protect residents by not following proper procedure when falls or accidents occurred.

Sultanali Pabani  said: “We have been working closely with Essex County Council to implement an agreed programme of action to address these concerns.

“We engaged a new manager in October last year and she has been working hard with us and her staff team with input from care standards consultants.

“Going forward this year we will be looking at ways in which we can improve further the quality of care we provide.”

Essex county councillor Dick Madden, cabinet member with responsibility for adults’ services, said: “We are aware of the concerns relating to safeguarding and the quality of the service at Treetops Care Home.

“We are actively working with the home’s management team to address these issues as quickly as possible to ensure that residents receive the standard of care we would expect.”

The CQC will issue a report on standards at the home after it has completed its inspection.
