Angry customers have voiced frustration online after more than two weeks of phone signal problems.

A number of people have used social media to complain to network EE about coverage in Epping, with many claiming they have endures a complete lack of internet or signal.

The outages, which have been blamed on faulty masts by EE, have affected businesses and other organisations as well as members of the public since at least March 5.

Mary Tsindides, 60, of Bower Hill, said she struggled to make a vital call from the doctor’s because of the outages.

She said: “I am always having issues but it keeps cutting out more and more often.

“I do have problems anyway, I do not think the signal is very good here.

“I was in the doctor’s surgery the other day and I needed to make a call but I could not, I was trying to call my daughter and I had to use a landline.”

Epping Town Council is one of the organisations affected by the EE outage.

Town clerk Alan Shaw said: “It is just ridiculous in this day and age.

“We are just outside of London and we have got no phone signal.”

He added: “It has continued for two weeks and it is getting frustrating.

“We have got people working outside and we cannot phone them, that is an issue we have got to deal with.

“If someone is out there digging in a cemetery and need to phone us, they cannot.”

Darren Gordon is the owner of Gordon’s Sweets stall at Epping market.

He said: “I have not had signal for a couple of weeks.

“I do need it, you rely on your mobile phone for all sorts and I cannot call, or receive.

“Occasionally you get a couple of bars but not many.”

Lewis Manning, 37, of Beaconsfield Road, said he was disappointed with EE’s service.

He said: “It is poor, they are generally OK but you do rely on it a lot.

“I am waiting for a few calls, but you check and realise you did not have any signal, and probably did not for a while.

“It certainly has not been good for the last couple of weeks.”

EE have been contacted for comment.
