A new group hoping to bring colour and vibrancy to a town centre has been awarded £2,000.
The Epping in Bloom project was awarded the funding by Epping Town Council, which announced plans for the group in February.
Ideas put forward by the group include flower planting competitions for schools and householders, and new floral displays including a horse-trough bed by the town sign in Tower Road.
The funding for the group was announced at a town council meeting last night (April 14).
A spokeswoman for the council said: "The group have lots of wonderful ideas and the town council can make these ideas come to life for the benefit everyone in Epping."
The next public meeting of Epping in Bloom is tomorrow (April 16) at 7.15pm in Epping Hall in St John's Road.
