Residents are being given the opportunity to quiz their chief constable on policing concerns.

Essex Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Nick Alston and Chief Constable Stephen Kavanagh will be visiting Loughton on June 9 for the Essex Police Challenge event.

The two-hour event at Epping Forest College in Borders Lane, will start at 7.30pm and will see Ch. Con Kavanagh update residents on the forces performance.

Topics said to be high on the agenda include the area's night-time economy, crime on public transport and the introduction of a new collaborative police IT system.

Mr Alston, said: "The Essex Police Challenge gives the public a unique opportunity to pose questions to both myself and the Chief Constable about crime and policing in their neighbourhood and county.

"They will also have the chance to see me publicly scrutinise the performance and work of Essex Police –a fundamental and key part of my role.

"I would urge everyone to submit questions and attend to see democracy and scrutiny in local policing in action."
