Any waste or recycling collections that have been missed due to "teething problems" with a new schedule will be carried out, Epping Forest District Council has said.

There will be no limit to the amount of recycling material people can put out on their next collection date and any missed collections will be repeated, the council announced.

The council and collection company Biffa introduced a new four-day collection schedule on Tuesday (May 12).

Textiles, small electrical items and batteries have also been added to the items the council now recycles.

A council spokesman said: “We would like to thank residents for their patience during the transition phase to the new timetable.

“There is bound to be some confusion and teething problems with such a major change but we hope residents will bear with us as we move to an enhanced and improved service.

“If we have missed your collection we will be back to collect it.”
