Two teenagers have been arrested in connection with an assault which left a 17-year-old with serious head injuries.

Police were called to the scene in Post Office Walk, Harlow at around 4.30am on May 8 following reports of an assault on two teenage boys.

One of the victims, who is now recovering at home in Harlow, was hospitalised after suffering severe injuries to his head.

The second victim, a 17-year-old from Epping, was also injured in the assault but did not require medical attention.

A 19-year-old man from Epping was arrested yesterday on suspicion of assault and is currently on bail until August 17 pending further enquiries.

A 17-year-old boy from Harlow was charged with two counts of assault.

He is due to appear before magistrates at Chelmsford Youth Court on June 19.
