Plans for a new block of flats have met with official opposition amid fears of “overdevelopment” and a lack of parking.
The proposal for the demolition of a house in Kendal Avenue, Epping, and replacing it with a block of four flats was considered by Epping Town Council last night (August 25).
Councillors opposed the plans for various reasons, including the density of the proposed development and the lack of parking, with only four spaces for the four two-bedroom flats.
The meeting also heard concerns that the current owner was letting the property fall into disrepair.
Councillors Jon Whitehouse and Tony Church said it would be an overdevelopment which could set a precedent for further inappropriate proposals, and mayor Michael Wright said: "It is inappropriate development for that road, end of story."
