Charity-minded school pupils gave passionate speeches to secure donations for their chosen causes last night (March 17).
At West Hatch High School in Chigwell, nine teams of year eight pupils gave presentations on their favourite charities before an audience and panel of judges.
St Clare Hospice in Hastingwood, which cares for and supports people with terminal and life-limiting illnesses, will receive £1,000 after being chosen by the winning team.
Macie Thorne, Abigail Holmes-Bright, Taila Black, Rebecca Wallis and Maddie Fitch were the winning team.
The DogsTrust and Macmillan Cancer Support will each receive £250 as the chosen charities of the runners-up.
