A man’s neck was slashed with a broken glass in a ‘disturbance’ involving around 40 people early yesterday morning (April 10).

Essex Police are appealing for witnesses after the man, in his 20s, was seriously injured in the incident outside Nu Bar in Loughton High Road.

Witnesses claimed the victim was assaulted by two men, one believed to be wearing a polo top and another using crutches.

A BMW car may have also been involved.

The victim was taken to a London hospital where he remained in a serious but not life-threatening condition yesterday afternoon.

A 31-year-old man from Birmingham was arrested at the scene in connection with the incident.
