A casualty was cut free after a crash involving two vehicles last night (April 13).
Firefighters were called to Coppice Row in Theydon Bois at 10pm to reports of the collision, with crews responding from Epping and Loughton.
Specialist cutting equipment was used to free the casualty by 11.35pm.
The air ambulance, three ambulances and an ambulance officer attended.
The casualty was treated for a serious leg and pelvic injury before being taken to the Royal London Hospital by land ambulance in a serious condition.
Four other people were described as ‘walking wounded’ without any serious or life threatening injuries.
They were taken to Queens Hospital in Romford.
