A teenage boy has been arrested after a man was assaulted in his own home.

The 16-year-old has been bailed until August 1 after he was arrested on suspicion of burglary following the incident in Chandler Road, Loughton.

Last Wednesday (April 27), a burglar used a key to enter a property in the road at 6.40pm.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was assaulted and items were taken from the property.

The ambulance service did not attend and Essex Police said it was “unclear” if the victim had been injured.
