A dentist’s appointment, sick day or bad weather could cause the odd day off for most school pupils – but not for one 10-year-old, whose determination and strong immune system means he has not missed a day in six years.
With a 100 per cent attendance record ahead of his last year at Lambourne Primary School in Abridge, Hector Husted-Smith said he is “really proud”.
He has received a certificate for his full attendance each year.
“I try really hard to get the certificates.
“I’ll try and do it next year for my seventh year at the school.”
His mother Melanie Husted-Smith, 43, of New Road, said: “I am very proud, I have got another two children and one is on her way too, she has never had a day off yet.”
