A scheming burglar kept his victim talking while his partner stole money from upstairs.
The thieves targeted the house in Hornbeam Road, Buckhurst Hill, between 3pm and 5pm on Wednesday (July 27).
The first suspect knocked on the front door and started talking to the victim about a broken fence.
They went to the property’s front room and talked for about 10 minutes.
While they talked, the second burglar also entered by the front door and went upstairs to the main bedroom.
The thief took money from a chest of drawers, before coming back downstairs.
The two suspects then left together in a white van.
Anyone who saw anything suspicious should call 101 and talk to Loughton CID.
