A man has been sent to crown court in connection with a shooting which left a man with “life changing injuries”.

Edward Michael Christopher Dooley, 24, is charged with conspiracy to commit murder after he was arrested in Sedge Green, Nazeing, last Tuesday (October 11).

The charge was in relation to an incident in Stanford-le-Hope, Essex.

The victim was driving a silver Ford Transit van when he was shot at the junction of London Road and Stanford Road on Tuesday May 10.

Mr Dooley, unemployed, of St Edwards Way, Romford, was sent to Chelmsford Crown Court after appearing at Basildon Magistrates’ Court on Monday (October 17).

He will next appear next Monday (October 24), and has been remanded in custody.

A 33-year-old man from Ilford charged with conspiracy to commit murder in connection with the incident is already before the courts.

A 58-year-old woman from Romford who was arrested on Tuesday October 12 on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder has been released on bail until December 6 pending further enquiries.

A 26-year-old man from Chingford who was arrested on August 8 on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder has been rebailed until November 28, pending further enquiries.
