Quiz buffs at a Loughton Primary School have reached the next round of a national competition after blitzing the competition in their heat.
Three teams from Hereward Primary School took part in the first round of the National Quiz-Club Championships in Forest Gate.
The school’s teams finished first, second and third in their heat, with the winning team, Karis-Joy, from Year 6, Rhys, Year 5, Rachel, Year for and Benjamin, Year 3, qualifying for the national semi-finals.
This is the seventh time in eight years that a Hereward team has qualified for the national event.
Headteacher, Matt Woolard, said: "I am so proud of all the children who took part and who yet again displayed their wonderful general knowledge and aptitude for learning.
"They performed confidently and are looking forward to the next round."
