Following rumours on social media of a disturbance in a tube station police have confirmed they arrested a man.
Commuters reported seeing a distressed man shouting and waving his arms with an upset child shortly before 5pm in Leytonstone station on Tuesday (February 7).
British Transport Police said: “Officers were called to Leytonstone underground station at 4.45pm yesterday to reports of a man shouting and a concern for welfare.
“A man was detained under the Mental Health Act and taken to a place of safety.
“No offences were found to have taken place.”
