PATIENTS can now make evening and weekend appointments with GPs in Waltham Forest.

The scheme was rolled out across the borough on Monday, February 13.

Appointments are available between 6.30pm and 9.30pm at the Allum Practice in Fairlop Road, Leytonstone, on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.

The service will become available five days a week from February 27.

GPs will also offer appointments from 9am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday at Higham Hill Medical Centre in Walthamstow, Handsworth Medical Practice in Highams Park and Harrow Road GP Practice in Leytonstone.

The service is commissioned by Waltham Forest Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG)

CCG Chairman Dr Anwar Khan said: “We know that extending access to high-quality GP services is important for people living in Waltham Forest.

“Making GP appointments available in the evening will make a big difference to many and, along with appointments at weekends, means Waltham Forest GPs are doing all they can to make sure local people are able to visit their family doctor at a time that suits them best.”
