PARENTS struggling to entertain their restless children on half-term may find solace in a ‘Grow your own food’ workshop.
The event run by B&Q will see horticulturalists encouraging children to get their hands in the earth and plant vegetables.
Mike Norton, market director at B&Q, said: “Children will be fascinated as they see the seeds they’ve sown themselves, grow into flowers and produce.

"Seeing the bees and butterflies visiting the flowers is a great way for them to engage with nature. And they will be so proud to see the vegetables they’ve grown themselves make it into their dinner.”
The free workshop will run from 12pm to 2pm on Saturday, February 18, at B&Q in Leyton Mills, Marshall Road, Leyton.
