Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino insists it is too early for his players to begin dreaming of FA Cup glory, despite reaching the last eight of the competition.

Spurs delivered a commanding performance against the in-form Championship side at Craven Cottage, to put their name in the hat for this evening’s Sixth Round draw.

However, Pochettino warned his side must put aside thoughts of lifting the cup for the time being and instead concentrate on overturning a one-goal deficit in the Europa League round of 32 against Gent at Wembley on Thursday.

The Spurs manager said: “First of all we need to wait for the draw and then play the quarter final, I think it is too early to speak about if we will win the trophy.

“We need to forget this now and be focussing on Thursday because it is a massive, massive game for us.

“We must win, we must go to the next round and now it is not okay to speak about the FA Cup, we can see the draw, but after that we must forget and focus on Thursday.

“It will be a massive game for us and our supporters at Wembley and we need to put our whole energy to try to find a way to get through to the last round.”

A hat-trick from Harry Kane saw Tottenham run out comfortable 3-0 winners at Fulham, with the England striker taking his impressive tally in London derbies to 20 goals in just 22 games.

Kane spearheaded a strong side chosen by Pochettino for the tie, after disappointing loses to Liverpool and Gent in the past eight days.

Pochettino added: “When we assessed the players, after two defeats against Liverpool and Gent, many players wanted to play.

“They did not feel they were tired and it was a great opportunity to show we are alive and change the feeling after those two defeats.”
