A SCHOOL public speaking team are into the final of a competition.
Pupils from Chigwell school will challenge in the Rotary Youth Speaks competition on May 7 after winning at the regional final in Ipswich last Saturday (March 11).
The team, which is made up of year 10 students, challenged two other rivals made up of sixth form students.
Emma Rea, head of English, said: “We were delighted when the team was successful in winning the heat.”
Christopher Collins, who was the speaker, gave a speech on whether the monarchy was outdated and was met with applause from the audience.
