AN MP was grilled by school students for a BBC report.

Eleanor Laing, MP for Epping Forest, gave an interview to Chigwell School pupils and was pressed on whether 16-year-olds should be allowed to vote, her time as deputy speaker and her biggest challenges so far.

The long serving MP spoke to both sixth form students and pupils from all years.

Molly Maloney, a year seven pupil, asked Mrs Laing whether there should be a salary cap to reduce the gap between low and high paid workers.

The students’ report will appear on BBC School Report website from today.
