A MAN has appeared in court after being charged with raping a child under 13 and slavery offences.
Catalin-Florin Buica, 24, of Pennymead in Harlow, was arrested at a car wash in Bower Hill, Epping last Friday (April 7).
Following his arrest, four children, who police say are Romanian nationals, were taken into care.
Police raided the car wash after receiving information from nearby residents.
Mr Buica was charged with rape of a child under 13 and four offences under the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
He appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court today (April 10).
