THE mother of a disabled child is hoping to put on a charity day “bigger and better” than before.

Danielle Myers, 38, is the mother to Dylan, who has an undiagnosed condition which stops him from growing up.

She plans a family fun day every year to raise money for Dylan’s cause and plans to spend the money on a sensory room for him this time.

Dylan is six-years-old, but weighs only 10kg and is 80cm long. He is stuck in the body of a nine month old baby, says his mother.

Danielle, from Ongar, was told when she was pregnant that Dylan’s organs were twisted at a 180 degree angle and that he wasn’t growing properly.

Eight weeks after he was born, he had a seizure, but was only ever treated for reflux.

The mum-of-two said: “Me and Dylan, we’re together 24/7. If he stops breathing or harms himself the oxygen to his brain can be gone in minutes. We treat every day as a gift. When you leave the house in the morning you appreciate how lucky you are.

“He’s my Peter Pan. He’s a little boy that does not grow up. Everybody he meets falls in love with him.”

After being treated and diagnosed by a number of doctors, Dylan’s family still do not know what his illness is, and he has faced many problems.

Danielle said Dylan ‘died in her arms’ before being resuscitated in 2011.

“They just could not get to the bottom of what he had.

“It was January and he was almost five months. He was in my arms. His skin went grey and he stopped breathing. It was horrific.”

Dylan was taken straight to hospital and now relies on steroids and chemotherapy sessions.

His father, Richard, 41, and his sister, Scarlett, 11, also help to care for him.

Danielle raised more than £20,000 for Dylan’s cause last year, and is hoping to raise that with a £50,000 target this year.

At the event, there will be a dj, a fun fair and a bouncy castle.

The charity day is at Abridge Village Hall on Sunday, July 23rd from 12pm to 6pm.
