A POPULAR restaurant withdrew its application to stay open late.

Pizza Hut, in High Road, Loughton, was due to apply for its licence to stay open until 12pm on Mondays to Saturdays at the Epping Forest District Council licensing sub committee on Tuesday, April 18.

Four district councillors and two objectors arrived to hear the case, but were told after arriving that Pizza Hut would withdraw its application.

David Linnell, who planned to object on behalf of Loughton Residents Association Plans Group, said: “There are flats above the shop in the Broadway, and the objections related to the disturbance that would be caused for residents. Customers gain access at the front of the shop, but deliveries are collected at the rear, so even having a flat with a bedroom at the back would not avoid the inevitable noise.”
