A woman has gone on the run after she was found guilty of mistreating her dangerously underweight bull terrier.
Karen Prosser, of The Drive, Walthamstow, was found guilty in absence of causing unnecessary suffering to her dog, named Brandy last Wednesday (April 19).
The 38-year-old had previously admitted owning the terrier, which was found by RSPCA staff last year suffering from severe weight loss.
Prosecutors said Prosser had failed to investigate or address the causes of Brandy’s poor health and weight loss.
She failed to attend court and was instead found guilty by magistrates after evidence was heard in her absence.
After Prosser failed to appear, a warrant was issued for her arrest so that she can be brought before the court to be sentenced at a later date.
