A FORMER rockstar's converted chapel studio is for sale.

The converted chapel, in High Laver, Epping, was once owned by mod rocker, Steve Marriott from Small Faces in the 1960s.

The chapel, which is now valued at £675,000, was bought by its current owners three years ago and renovated.

Steve Marriott died in a fire at his home in north Essex in 1991, but throughout his career, he recorded music from it while living next door.

He was awarded the Ivor Novello award for his outstanding contribution to British music.

The chapel was built in 1862, and a sign showing this was the name of an unfinished Small Faces record.
