A former Leyton Orient and West Ham star has been charged will appear in court this week on fraud and money laundering charges.

Blair Turgott, has been charged after an investigation by the Met’s fraud and linked crime online unit (Falcon).

The 22-year-old, of Ravensmead Road in Bromley, faces one count of fraud by false representation and one count of converting criminal property.

Turgott made one first-team appearance for the Hammers, in the FA Cup defeat to Nottingham Forest in January 2014.

The winger had risen through the youth ranks at the Hammers and was loaned out several times during his time at the club to the likes of Colchester United and Bradford City.

He left West Ham to join Coventry City, and spent last season with Orient, where he made 36 appearances and scored a single goal.

This term, he has been playing for Bromley in the National League.

Turgott is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Friday, April 28.
