POLICE have been granted more time to question three teenage women arrested on suspicion of terror offences.

Two 18-year-olds and one 19-year-old were arrested in east London on Monday, May 1.

Three other women were also arrested following the intelligence-led operation in Willesden last week in which a woman was shot. The woman has since been discharged from hospital and was arrested.

The six women are being held on suspicion of preparing or instigating terrorist acts.

Westminster Magistrates’ Court granted warrants to question the women for up to seven more days.

A 21-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy arrested at the time of the operation in Willesden have been released without charge.
