A women’s group held an interfaith “pilgrimage” to celebrate diversity in Waltham Forest.

The Forest Women’s Interfaith Network took a tour around various places of worship in Chingford to spend time talking with people across a cross-section of faiths on Sunday (July 2).

Among those on the route were stops to meet members of the Buddhist, Christian, Baha’i, Muslim and Sikh communities.

The walkers were joined on the pilgrimage, by Chingford and Woodford Green MP, Iain Duncan Smith.

Mr Duncan Smith said: “I marched with the Waltham Forest Women's Multi Faith pilgrimage yesterday, celebrating the diversity of religion which we have here in Chingford and Woodford Green.

“I did so because at a time so soon after Britain experienced three appalling terror attacks it is important that we come together to support tolerance and peace and never allow hate to divide us.”
