A CYCLE challenge will take place to raise cash for the British Lung Foundation and promote lung health to trade workers.

Festool’s roadshow in Leyton will feature static Wattbikes for anyone to jump on and give it their best shot.

The participants who cycle the fastest mile, three miles and five miles will win £500 worth of goodies.

Professionals from Festool will be on hand to promote their range of dust extractors that help create a dust-free work environment.

Jonathon Burcham, marketing manager at Festool, said: “With carpenters and joiners four times more likely to contract asthma compared to other workers, the HSE says tradespeople must always use dust extraction.”

The event on Monday, July 10, at Toucon Tools, Lee Valley Ice Centre in Lea Bridge Road, Leyton will run from 10am to 3pm.

Dr Penny Woods, chief executive of the British Lung Foundation, said: “This generous support will allow us to continue investing in research into new treatments and cures, and provide support to help people affected by lung disease, throughout the UK.”
