A man has been charged with burglary after sets of alloy wheels were stolen during a break in at a garage.

Kenneth Stoughton, 57, of Mead Grove, Romford has been charged by officers investigating a burglary at a workshop in Chester Road, Loughton.

Mr Stoughton was arrested on Wednesday, July 12 and later formally charged before appearing before Chelmsford Magistrates Court.

He is now due to appear at the same court again on Wednesday, August 16.

The victim had reported suspects had forced entry into his garage by damaging a lock before stealing two sets of alloy wheels at some point between the evening of May 21 and the afternoon of May 23.

At around 8am on Wednesday, July 12, police stopped a car in Whitmore Way, Basildon, in connection with the incident and arrested a man.
