A firefighter is preparing to climb 45 peaks which will make up the height of Mount Everest.

Naomi Simington, 40, of Chigwell, will be joined by seven other women on the challenge in the Lake District.

The 40-year-old who also works as a graphic designer suffered a mental and physical breakdown four years ago after experiencing financial problems and a relationship break-up.

Through daily exercise, mindfulness practice and a healthy diet, Ms Simington built herself up again and is now on top form.

She credits Vivo Life, which aids muscle recovery after exercise, for helping her get where she is today.

Epping Forest Guardian:

The team of eight ladies are using the whey products as part of their preparations for the hike and Vivo Life has agreed to sponsor the team’s trek.

The team are fundraising for The Firefighters Charity which supports firefighters suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder with a particular focus on those who fought the Grenfell Tower blaze.

Cash raised by the women will also be donated to Arise School in Tanzania to build a shower and toilet block.

Many of the female students drop out when they reach puberty as they have no means of staying clean during their periods.

To prepare for the gruelling challenge which will take place later this month, Ms Simington has been doing HIIT sessions daily, and carrying a backpack on her hiking and running routes.

Epping Forest Guardian:

She said: “The more research I did into nutrition as a whole, the more I felt the ethos of Vivo Life shine through.

“Compared to other whey proteins, Vivo Life powders are full of all the right types of protein and ingredients.  Plus, you don’t feel like you’re sticking a whole load of junk into your body

“It’s the Sustain product that has the biggest impact on my training.

“During the hot days in June I could work for hours at a fire and still feeling like training afterwards thanks to the sustain drink.”
