A children’s charity has launched a new, improved website in the hope of raising awareness about the services it provides for families in the area.

Walthamstow-based Lloyd Park Children’s Charity launched the online forum featuring blogs with parenting tips, job adverts and details of fundraising events.

Founded in 1981 by Pauline Thomas MBE to offer mums and dads support and a place to socialise, the charity now runs over 70 activities across Waltham Forest every week.

The group manages four centres and two nurseries in the borough where courses are held for breastfeeding support, baby massage, first aid, as well as a Dads’ Club.

Since the launch of the charity’s baby bank in 2014 hundreds of families struggling to cope with the arrival of a newborn have received donations.

Helen Hinsley, nursery manager, said: “We are really excited about getting the word out.

“Although we have been around for over 30 years, not everybody knows about us and the services we provide.

“Our management board is made up of parents and it was them and the staff who pulled this website together.”
