A hit-and-run driver has been warned he could be jailed after he admitted killing a motorcyclist.

Ronney Actil pleaded guilty to causing the death of 21-year-old biker Adam Coulson in a crash in Lea Bridge Road, Leyton, on October 14 last year.

Actil had clipped Mr Coulson's bike with his Volkswagen Scirocco when he pulled out into a lane without looking in slow-moving traffic.

Mr Coulson was knocked off his bike and suffered head injuries and died shortly after being taken to hospital.

However, Actil, 47, of Hackney, failed to stop at the scene of the crash and instead drove off to seek medical attention himself.

He was arrested the following day after police tracked down the registered owner of the car, who passed on his details.

The motorist was warned "all options" were open to the court after pleading guilty at the Old Bailey yesterday (Thursday, November 2).

Judge Anthony Bate adjourned sentencing until November 23 for reports.

Prosecutor Naomi Parsons said the defendant had also been accused of failing to stop at the scene of an accident and failing to report an incident.

In light of his guilty plea, she said the other offences would be dropped.

Actil, who is on conditional bail, was immediately disqualified from driving for at least 12 months.
