A teenager who was stabbed in the stomach last week has died, police have confirmed.

The 18-year-old man was attacked in Mount Pleasant in Walthamstow on Thursday, just two days after another man was stabbed in Subway in St James St, Walthamstow.

Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command have launched a murder investigation.

There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: “On Thursday November 16 at 23:14hrs police were called to reports of a group of males armed with weapons in Mount Pleasant Road, E17.

“At the scene, an 18-year-old man was found suffering a stab wound to the stomach.

“The injured man was taken to an east London hospital by London Ambulance Service for treatment to his injuries.

“He subsequently died in hospital on Monday November 20.

“His next of kin have been informed; formal identification awaits.

“A post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.”
