A woman has been left with "life-changing" injures after a three-car crash on a country lane.

The incident took place at around 9.40am on Tuesday, January 2, at the junction between London Road and Epping Lane in Stapleford Tawney.

Essex Police said a blue Ford Fiesta, a grey Range Rover Evoque and a black Ford Mondeo were the three vehicles involved in the crash.

A 19-year-old woman was taken by air ambulance to The Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel with life-changing injuries.

She remains in hospital receiving treatment. Police described the woman's condition as "stable".

A man in his 40s was also treated by paramedics at the scene after he escaped the crash with minor injuries.

Essex Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed yesterday units from Ongar and Brentwood stations attended the scene to free the woman from the car.
