A SPORTY primary school pupil has raised more than £1,200 for a support charity after his sister fell seriously ill.
Two years ago Epping Uplands pupil Chloe Caffall toppled over at the end of a school dance show.
Her mum Angela called 111 and on their advice took Chloe to hospital, where she was diagnosed with a bacterial strain of meningitis and immediately quarantined.
Mrs Caffal said: "She was in hospital for about a week. Everyone was really kind. The nurses came and visited her four times a day when she got home.
"Luckily she made a full recovery and now we want to give something back."
Sam, Chloe's brother, decided to take on a 10km run in order to raise money for Meningitis Now, a charity that helps sufferers get over the potentially deadly disease.
In total, he raised an impressive £1,206.
