ARTISTS are sought for the third annual Loughton Art Trail which launches this Saturday.

Part if the Loughton Festival and the Essex Summer of Art, the trail arranges a visual feast of art displayed across the town in libraries, Epping Forest College, Restore Community Centre, Loughton Methodist Church and shops and other businesses.

Local artists who want their work displayed in the pop-up venues can also sell their paintings, photos, sculptures and crafts as part of the trail, which includes walks and talks, workshops and family-friendly events.

Children’s activities take place in half-term week May 26 to June 2.

The call for artists is the Trail’s launch event, which takes place at the opening of the LifeWorks Art Hub, a new creative space in Loughton. The Trail organisers are Stephen Pewsey, a town councillor, Jenna Thorne, LifeWorks co-ordinator, and Ruth Dronsfield, a local artist and art teacher.

Cllr Pewsey said: “This is an opportunity for all of us in Loughton to enjoy the work of local artists and to join in as well and get creative.” For further details, check the Loughton Art Trail Facebook page and for application forms go to loughtonarttrail@gmail.com
