Police are hunting for a gang of men who harassed a group of women on a night out, throwing an unknown liquid at them.
The incident took place at between 12.30am and 1am on Sunday morning in High Road, Loughton.
Officers investigating the attack said four men aged between 18 and 25 began verbally abusing groups of women, before approaching a group of four females at around 1am.
While three of the suspects verbally harassed the women, one threw a container filled with an unknown liquid at them.
The man was also reported to be in the possession of a small kitchen knife.
None of the victims came into contact with the liquid and escaped the incident unharmed.
