Hundreds of motorists have been caught committing speeding, seat belt and drug driving offences.
On Tuesday (May 15) Essex Police held a traffic operation on the A121 in Waltham Abbey.
Three people were arrested suspicion of drug driving, including a 40-year-old man from Waltham Abbey and a 39-year-old man from Enfield.
Both men have been released pending further enquires.
A 30-year-old man from Enfield was also arrested on suspicion of drug driving and assaulting a police officer. He has been released pending further enquires.
Throughout the rest of the operation more than 208 speeding drivers and 97 people driving without wearing a seatbelt were found out.
A further 24 drivers were found to be driving while using their phones.
Each driver received six points and a fine.
Two drivers were found to be driving without valid insurance and both had their cars seized.
Matt Hine, operational tasking supervisor at the casualty reduction section, said: “We’re better equipped than ever to detect those that drive while under the influence of drink and drugs.
"If you take the risk, it’s only a matter of time before you’re caught and put before the courts.”
