The Central Line has been shut down as commuters say they saw a woman throw herself onto the tracks.

Shortly before 12pm all services east of Bethnal Green station were halted after what TFL describe as a 'customer incident' at the station.

Commuters claiming to be on the platform at the time of the incident took to social media to explain what they saw.

Kayleigh Cogley tweeted: "A woman just threw herself in front of the tube right in front of me at Bethnal Green station.

Severe delays are being experienced and are expected to continue for some time.
